Can anyone help me confirm that this is the 10 millionth Prime?

    Hi there,

Can any one help me confirm that this is the 10 millionth prime? I've already done a trial-by-division test on it, but would like to see it listed in a credible reference. Could any one point me to one?

    179,424,673

Can find loads of pages on the internet listing the millionth prime, but nothing above, except for mersenne primes.

    Cheers

I also did a trial by division test for the 10 millionth prime (some time ago), and my result was 179424673, which matches yours.

If you want to check further, my result for the 20 millionth prime was 373587883.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply & thanks for the info. Just done a test on 373587883 with my own home brew trial by division code, it says it's prime.

Also just wanted to add a foot note to my original post. I wouldn't want anyone thinking I'm under illusions that a 10 million prime is big or anything. It was just a bit of fun. Was just curious if anyone knows a good site which lists primes bigger than a million and the gives the digits explicitly.

the text file that actually lists the digits in non-scientific notation form is over 6MB!

That one also is mainly on Mersenne primes.

There are lists of primes out there, but for some reason my own sources kept on leading me elsewhere.
