    Doing the happy dance

Well I just looked at my official grade for this last semester, 3 As and one B. GPA of 3.769. I am so happy. Going for a 4.0 next semester. Wasn't expecting to do this well this semester since I had an english class.

    Woohoo!

Edit: Just looked at my entire transcript and my cumulative gpa went from a 3.333 to a 3.560.

    Now its time to celebrate

Ya, I just now noticed that. I think that's considered block scheduling. Me? I have 8 periods and home room. I never heard of block scheduling done in middle schools before though.

Technically this was my third semester. First semester was summer of '96 in a program for sophomore/juniors that were "at risk." The spring of '03 semester I only took two classes to get back in the swing of things. I have 25 units already but only 16 of them transfer

But yeah I consider myself a first year

Edit: 1veedo look at my profile and my avatar and ask yourself it sounds like middle school, also at what middle school can you have 3 As and a B and get that GPA?

Or any GPA, for that matter. We didn't even use GPAs in middle school.

Congrats, Thantos. My school doesn't have grades due until the 14th, so I won't have mine for awhile. My GPA can't make that sort of a jump (it's hard to change your GPA after 140some credits), but I hope it to be pretty good (minus the one class I'm just praying I passed)

I don't remember if we used GPA in middle school or not. Our grades aren't required till the around the 14th also but I guess my teachers got done earlier. They all had grade posted a few days ago but that was still unofficial and I don't celebrate till its official

What makes me the happist is that this is a great way to start off what I consider my first real semester and it shows I've grown out of my highschool immaturities.

Im in college at age 16, i never really had time for immaturities(well, depends, I portray myself as an ass to some people so that way I can get away from them if they are annoying "cling-ons". you know, the people that just hang around you like toilet paper on a shoe).

Allow me to bow to your mega intelligence. You sure put us regular slobs in our place, dude.

Also, I'm not sure why anyone would want to cling on to you, although I like how you draw the paralell between you and an ass so I don't have to do it myself .

    edit: But congratulations, Thantos .

All the teachers and fellow students at school praise me on my intelligence, but I got a pretty crappy GPA. I only got a 3.5 last 9 weeks. I want > 3.7

I never heard of block scheduling done in middle schools before though.
We don't start block schedule until we are a Sophomore. I'm a freshman this year (High School). Right now I have 7 classes. I can't wait until I go to block. It's so stressing having to keep track of 7 things at once. Especially when you get 7 homework assignments in one night.

We're doing just the opposite. I've had block scheduling since Freshman year, and in my next (Senior) year they're going to switch us to 7 periods a day. Sucks.

You just reminded me I have to go back to school as soon as the snow thaws enough that the buses can go on their routes...This semester has been a breeze except for health class which has some pretty dumb projects. Next semester I get two English classes which should be fun

    >>minus the one class I'm just praying I passed

I was in the same boat, and unfortunately I ended up with a 'D' in linear algebra! it was such an easy course, and I got a 'D', damnit. But for this I could partly blame my professor. There were only three grades in the class, two midterms and a final...originally the midterms together were supposed to be 70%, and the final 30%.....unfortunately the professor put the words "tentative syllabus", and changed the scorring on exa day.

Basically he made an extremely hard final, and what you got on it that was your final grade. I didn't study for it as much, because I got 'A's on the midterms....so I got a D missing a C by 2 points....no curve instituted. DAMNIT.

anyways congrats Thantos, my GPA is similar at 3.79 cummulative after 5 semesters.
