    >> After that they will be expected to train an overseas replacement worker in the U.S. for several weeks. The IBM workers marked for replacement have 60 days to find another job inside the company, likely to be a difficult task at a time when IBM is holding down hiring. <<

Wonderful. You have to teach someone to do your job, as IBM tells you it has no more use for your services.
Then you go on unemployment benifits paid for by tax payers. All so IBM can make more money. I say tax IBM extra for each job they send offshore or send them to the back of the que for government contracts.

Great for the Indians but bad for the rest of us. Maybe its time I moved to India. Great food, low cost of living, friendly people and some very interesting sight seeing.

    And good cricketers.

But as GWB uses an Indian firm to do his tele-marketing for campaign funds I don't see much chance of the US government slowing this down. (as they did for steel, sugar and lamb)

The southern most state of the US. Part of the new missile defence system (just not important enough to be under its umbrella)

Least our $ is worth something again (>30% increase this year). Pity it has put the loan rate up 0.5% and will go higher next year.

Man, I don't know how my future is going to end up if this crap keeps going on. I'm a Freshman in High School now, looking forward to taking Comp Sci in college. I keep hearing more and more about how hard people in the computer field have it.

I have 15+ years in PC hardware, support and software engineering, with apps in use by global multi-nationals including AMTRAK.

I was told today, by a prospective employer, that I could not get $45,000 (I want >$50,000). $40,000 was a high as they would go. Average wage is here is $47,000.

Time to go and sell grease traps and waste recovery with a mate. I would get $50,000 + $10,000 car + free fuel + commision.

    Bored or broke????
