    virtual desktops

Ok. I am Running Windows XP Home Edition ( don't laugh ) and I wanted to download something that would give me multiple desktops to use. The best one I know of is MSVDM, so I downloaded that, installed it, but nothing seems to happen. Does anyone know how to work this, or does anyone know of a better virtual desktop program to use, and if so, where to download it?

Windows XP Power Toys includes a program that can do several virtual desktops.

And of course it is made especially for WinXP by M$. You can get it a Microsoft's site.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I always thought that this was only a feature of Linux.

well its a 'ghetto' vdm. id use it, but the taskbar doesnt clear for every desktop. like the apps minimized to the start menu will show up in 1 -> 4, instead of just the VD you opened that app it. it kinda defeats the purpose imo

There's a setting that will clear each taskbar and act like a new untouched dekstop for each one,

Yeah, unfortunately it's not turned on that way by default. Oh well

Even then, not every program sticks to it's own desktop. Winamp for example like to take it's place on each desktop.

Mine doesn't. You probably have that horrid Winamp3. They reverted back to the 2.X series because 3 was so bad. 5 is coming out soon (a little bit of 2 + a little bit of 3 = 5), though.

Yeah, that was with 3. Actually.... I don't use either. I use XMMS

That was just at work, for like, a day.
