    Legality of SWF-Editor

I downloaded the SWF (MacroMedia Flash) file format from wotsit and I'm planning on making a firaly simple editor to make Flash files. Is this legal? I mean, is the format copyrighted such that you're not allowed to make an editor for it?

other than the liscence I think it would be very hard to make a good .swf editor, do to the fact that all flash animations use really advance compression algos.

just a side note: I love flash! and all products from macromedia for that fact!

That License comes with the SDK (a C++ Library actually) and the file format. It includes all the normal compression.
