I don't think its morally wrong, but I think w00tsoft is right about the children. At lease presently (and thinking back on gradeschool/highschool near indefinently X_X), the kid would be teased alot I think. Hmm, however, I'm not sure that is a reason not to have a kid. Think of interracial couples, I hear their kids are made fun of or something (not in the school I went to), but the parents still go ahead with it, and (to my knowledge and hope) the kids still grow up fine. I'll admit that in the back of my mind I'm a bit more...awkward thinking about 2 gay parents with children, but I think new things always seem that way at first. It doesn't mean its wrong.

About Fountain saying "you're American, be proud." I really am not proud of what "my" country does. In my opinion we interfere far too much in the affairs of others for our own gain and then cover it up by saying we are doing something "morally" right. This country brain washes its kids to become consumer $$$$$, productive citizens that are obedient to the white male Christian leaders we have. However, I don't want to complain too much cause its really not a bad life I lead here, just people forcing beliefs on eachother gets tedious.

I want to move to Australia.

Where I come from homosexuals actually get death threats against them. I guess it's because I live in Tennessee.

Somebody that people find "cool" or "popular" needs to stand up for homosexuals. I'm sick of people using the word "gay" as an INSULT when it really isn't.

If homosexual couples adopt a kid, I think they should explain that normal people are heterosexual, and they should only be homo if they feel homo, not just because that is what they have been exposed to, or because it's what their "parents" are.

Has there been any proof of it being natural or unnatural? Could it be the left/right handed thing (~90% right, ~10% left)? Or could it be just that you've been around males/femails for so long that you're more comfortable and feel more affection for them?

Until there is proof either way, I'm just gonna stay out of this. This discussion is leading nowhere

I think the population is sometihng like 90% heterosexual, 10% homosexual (no source, really. Just an oft-quoted number), so it could make sense.

I really don't think the word "normal" should be used. I hate it.

"I'm sick of people using the word "gay" as an INSULT when it really isn't." -frenchfry164

I know what you mean. I find that I say it occasionally just from hearing it so much (much the same I say "oh my god" despite my near disbelief in god). I used to say it more frequently, but I realized it is just the same as calling someone a jew (or any other group of people) in a derogatory way, and I can't stand people doing that. I was being hypocritical (whic is also something I hate...).

Natural and unnatural? These words are so screwed up...if man created something then it is unnatural...but why? Isn't humankind natural? If so then why isn't mankind's creations? Along with normal, I don't like the term natural either.

    Jimmy Carter quote is excellent!

I've been out of this debate for a while, but I just had a thought. It's been brought up that homosexuals really do feel love for each other, outside of just a physical attraction.

One good point that I think should be made is that you don't have to have a physical relationship with someone if you love them. This may sound against the idea to let them marry, but at least outside of physical relationships it seems like they should have a right to everything heterosexual couples have a right to.

I was browsing some sites that addressed this issue, and one of them, I believe, was a Christian site, that proposed that the issue was not whether homosexuality is bad or not, but whether they should live a life of celibacy (again, from a religious point of view).

The only reason I can see to have sex besides procreation is for pleasure. So, unless someone else has other reasons, that leaves only one reason for homosexuals to have sex. Of course, that changes the view of things: Is there a good reason not to have sex in this case?
(I figure this paragraph will bring up the most arguments)

I just thought this brought up a slightly different perspective of homosexuality...

There's a reason it's called "making love". Sex can bring a couple closer together. It feels good, sure, but it's also a physical way to show your love for your partner.

And what's wrong with feeling good? Do you think all married couples have sex purely to make kids? I mean, really - everyone has a sex drive.

"Hey Bill, I love you so much!"
"Yeah Josh, we sure do have a great life together!"
    "Yeah...."
    "Why the long face...?"
"I dunno...I mean, you see, I have this penis here."
    "Oh. That's a problem."
"Is it? I mean, it shouldn't be. Couldn't you just...?"
"I dunno. I mean, can't you just go into the bathroom and...?"
"Oh. You're right. How silly of me!"
