I just got Window's XP (Home Edition)

Hey I just got window's XP home edition. I thought I would just buy the cheap upgrade version to see how I like it. So far it's the shiznit. I had alittle trouble upgrading though. The version of norton antivirus I had on my comp wasn't compatible with XP. The whole install took me about an hour, I think tomorrow Ill buy the professional version and put it on my new comp. It's way better than the crap I had on it before WinME XP = good, I like it. Do any of you other guys have it?

Hey read XP sideways and you can see a dead person's face! I don't know why but I just have an eye for that sort of thing...

I was thinking about getting it, but the whole idea of having to sent Microsoft a code that is generated depending on my hardware is putting me off a little.
That and I don't want to pay 200+ dollars for a microsoft product. Hell paying more then 50 cents is almost too much

Is it really that much better??
I mean, if it is like switching from IE 5.5 to IE 6.0, then no way, it isn't worth it...

Mine doesn't! I'll bet you have downloaded a ton of games and that sort of thing, heh? I rarely download any software, so it works just fine!

But you see, installing so many software will make programs crash on each other. It will really mess up the computer. I once download this game and it killed my USB port just like that, and I had to get a replacement for it! It was terrible... It isn't exactly the operation system's fault you know...

    Heh...

Im pretty sure that all the people with other OS's (Mac, Linux, BeOS, etc..) install there asses off in their computers and never have any problems.

That says two things to me.

    1. Windows is a pile of bugs.
    2. Software companies put out their products before they should, so they're a pile of bugs as well.

You add that up and you get the average Windows system.

    Just my 2 cents,
    biterman.
Do you know how contemptous they are of you?

INSTALLING SOFTWARE CAUSES YOUR OS TO CRASH AND YET YOU LIKE IT???????

who told you it isnt the os's fault

if it runs in'protected' mode it should be able to protect programs from dashing their registers into each other

i once crashed kernel.dll from a command line program in win98

now mayb my pointers went haywire but it shouldnt crash the os

    linux merely core dumped it

so it is definitely the OS makers fault if it crashes
guys you pay for your os's so you should get something worth it rite?

btw we in india rarely do(pay for sofware ie) for home use
dont tell this to the micro guys or they sue me

Generator, old buddy, I hate to say it, but I think you just
threw your money away on a ****znit program. You should
have gone with XP Pro or nothing. The difference, despite
MS's claims are huge. XP Family is a Millenium driver upgrade.
XP Pro is a Win 2k Pro upgrade. Big difference. Networking
protocols and firewall is much stronger in XP Pro.

I tried to use BEOS, but it did not work. Linux I have heard of crashes in witch it never works.

Second, I still have yet to get windowns 98 to crash all the time. Maybe I should network it.

I wanted to see how XP worked and if it's any good. Im going to buy the full version of win XP Pro today I think, and put it on my new computer. Even with the home "upgrade" version, my boot time is half on my old POS computer, and compared to how my old comp was running with WinMe It totally optimised the system. It was great. LOL I don't think I threw too much money away cause I was upgrading my old comp anyways, but I can just hear bill....

Muahahahahahahahha...Muahahahahahahahaha Liscensing to the system and not the user, it's so EEEVVVIIILLL, I rock, that's why they say "Bill Rulz" I need more money im going to try to patent the 1 and 0 while Im waiting for Generator to go buy another copy of my OS. BILL RULES!!!
