    Memory

When one declares a pointer a new int or something, is the HD used or ram? If I wanted to write to the HD, how would I do it? A file?

When people talk of memory, they usually talk of RAM. I've never heard disk storage referred to as memory besides by a computer illiterate.

If you wanted to "write" to the hard disk, yeah you'd usually write to a file.

BTW, future posts like this should probably be directed to one of the programming boards, not the general discussions board.

Sorry, I thought GD would be more appropriate because it refers to all languages.

It seems reasonable to use the GD. Perhaps there should be a computer architecture board?

Sorry, I thought CProg.com had a General Programming board. Guess not...
