Quite often lately I have found myself coding till I'm tired and am facing a roadblock (usally due to the fact that I'm too tired to think it out). Then when I lay down I find myself thinking about the problem and half the time I find an answer before I fall asleep. This in turn causes me to get up and code some more.
Anyone else run into this problem?
I just stay up coding until I fall asleep... so.... yeah. If I was laying in bed, I'd be sleeping during the time I code.

I used to lose sleep over coding problems, maybe up to about 15 - 20 years ago, when it was all still fun. Not any more.

well, it hasnt happend all that much over the summer. But during school time i often stay up late either working on an assignment i want to finish or working on a personal project because i have no other time to do it

for me coding is still something to do in my free time... I'm always kept up early either thinking about what to do to make my latest project better or hand-tracing a printout of my code or thinking about my gf... it's pretty much daily...

A few of you may be aware that you cant read in dreams - rather you see a resemblence of text and know what it means - but you never READ the text. Its all about what part of the brain is asleep and what part is active during R-E-M (dreaming).
Well I've pulled many a long nighters struglling with implimenting something and not being able to progmatically pull it off.
Then while I sleep I solve it . I *see* it on the screen. And while I cant exactly read the syntax of everything I KNOW what ive created in my mind line by line. I couldnt read the line statement:
but I knew it ment:Code:if( sun.orbital.m(2.3,1.2,3.0) == camera.orientation.vector()) {
if the orbital rotation of my sun objects magnitude is equal to the vector magnitude of my camera ...
That was a nonsense made up example -but thats what i've experienced. Its very gratifying to compile a program with no errors just knowing you completly coded it in your sleep. Scary too.
