    Western society leads to unsatisfaction

I mean.....just look at some ppl in here (I presume), they are very isolated from the society. I know someone who gets up at 7pm and gets to bed at 10am, staying inside almost all of the "day". Is this what we want? We have food, house and every other physical comfourt. But what about psychological comfourt? Once we have got our hands on something, we start hunting for something else, and can never feel satisfied.

I think I'd rather be a Bushman in Botswana. I'd hunt for my preys with my bow and arrow as my forefathers did 20,000 years ago, and click with my tounge to some of my Bushmen fellas. I'd always know what to do, never have anything to worry about.

If someone would give me a gun for the bow and arrow, I'd be happy for the extra meat.....but after that, I'd want something else extra, and there we go again to the unhappy society.

Well, I was writing a thing similar to this before my computer "crashed", but now I just write it again, although, it didn't get as good and pointful this time. It's the original though, although, it came to my mind that Buddhism says things similar to this. Just wanted to share these thoughts. Please reply and agree/disagree if you like.

I agree, but thirst for better knowledge, technology has lead to the advancement in mankind.. If the bushman was satisfied with his daily ration of meat.. You and me would have been fighting each others for a piece of meat..

Advancement has its own advantage and disadvantage.. But my guess is that advancement has moree good then the bad..

    I dunno - I'm pretty satisfied.

No one's stopping you from becoming a Bushman. If you're not happy with your situation, do something about it.

Look, I just want to talk. I'm not trying to raise my post count. Govt, you could cut 100 posts off that post count, I wouldn't mind. Anyway ROD, don't go off topic.......but while we're at it, I could stick in some flame as well: learn to differ between a possesive pronoun and a personal pronoun+reflexive verb. BACK TO TOPIC NOW

Vasanth, I think it's a question about Physcial comfourt vs. Psychological comfourt.

The Bushmen would be at the extreme of psychological comfourt, while "the Western society" would be at the extreme of physical comfourt.

Maybe the India with the castes was something in between these two extremes. By being born into castes, people mostly knew what to do with their lives, but they still had some "play room". Maybe you could add something to that, Vasanth.

I don't give a crap about your post count. I just think what you're talking about is really, really stupid.

You should really find another board that's more matched to your interests, like one on philosophy, complaining about being bored, or one that is just completely full of polls asking stupid personal questions with 15 different options. Sample questions include "What's your skin color", "What's your eye color", "What body cream do you use", "Do I post too damn much", "Would the world be better off if I was shot into space", or "Hey, this is just another stupid poll"

Well........all of those are non-programming related topics, aren't they?

BTW, I think you're doing a good job as a mod, although it proves you don't live much of a life, cheking IP's of pseudonymes. *made me laugh*

Inside is exactly the same as outside, except with walls. And sometimes airconditioning.
