women tend to think in different ways.....they are less interested in science, technology, computers, machines, programming etc etc. they are more interested in 'emotional' things
most women i know can't even program a video m/c or wire a plug, just not interested at all.

of course there are always exceptions.
but this is why most scientists, motor mechanics, engineers, computer experts, entrepenuers, programmers, physics experts, mathmaticians are men...and always will be....thats why most science fiction fans are men etc etc

this is not sexist, its fact. why don't people just accept the differences between the sexes....

this isn't intelligence however, women are equally as intelligent, as scientifically proven. just tend to think different.

[and don't start listing all the great women scientists, engineers etc, i'm talking about the general trend, theres always exceptions]

our incognito friend here has good points.

Just because we are saying that women aren't perfect doesn't mean that we are sexist. This is truth, not chauvanism.

hm. about this whole generalizing generalizations deal... i prefer not to think about it... but if you must...

i agree with michelle, tho perhaps you misunderstand her... this is a male dominated society, right? let's not tell any women, including myself, to 'face the reality'... you are asking for an ass-chewing... okay? ahem, to quote alanis morisette... "i recommend sticking your foot in your mouth at anytime"...

and this thread is about my gender, not which is better! in fact, this is one of the reasons i choose to keep my gender anonymous... because you all are biased vulture motha's! grrrr....

yet another man v. woman (or is it woman v. man? oh, that's a topic in itself) thread

    here's my view:
    1) men are physically stronger for the most part
    2) strength isn't much of an issue on a programming board.
    3) the differences between the sexes lies in sexual reproduction. the rest derives from that.
    4) men are usually more aggressive, at least in our society

i can't speak for women not being one myself. suffice to say:
we live in a male-dominated society because we grew up in a male-dominated society. however, enough men and women like the current arraingement that it isn't changed.

    wtf..

woooooow, after reading this whole thread, it went for quite funny and interesting to an all out war.

who cares? really.... *sigh* i see that all long threads end in war for some reason. But i was actually enjoying reading this thread untill this happend.

I agree, most men give us all a bad rap, and i do hate that. But you must trust that we are not all out againsed you. I respect people who deserve respect, heh, sometimes i guess you just have to take a chance sometimes..

    >> gender?
Fm (at least i think/hope so or else something wrong )

goddamn, i say something sensible for a change, and i 'popped' out (ooh err missus!!). that was me..
i'm reading a good book 'why men don't iron'.....a jokey title but a serious scientific book. the basic point is that men and women are different, and thats what makes it fun. society is wanting men to be more like women and visa versa. the other main point is that stating things like i did above, IS NOT sexism/chauvanism, its just a scientific FACT. most women think differently to most men.
when you say this you are always accused of sexism, so society is trying to deny it. lots of interesting things in the book...
[and b4 you start, its also a scientific fact that women and men have the same IQ]

    okay that's it...

any more talk about this battle of the sexes will not be tolerated, if you have more to add to the discussion at hand, please, focus it on the discussion relating to the title of the thread, at hand... any off-topic discussion will coerce consequences...

    thank you very much...

    [end-stick]

and kupo, yeah... it's the stupidity... hehe... ask others for the context of my gender anonimity... and you will be confused like the rest of us...

wow, what a topic this is...

what he wants his gender to be in cprogramming.com, I don't know. In reality, I don't know how he defines male and female but by definiton he is male. Or I can be wrong.
    think only with code.
    write only with source.

by he were you referring to me? if so then how do we know that you know that i'm a he? by he meant you actually all called by he? because then all those of 'he' are in fact of the gender indicated by he. and by which way forget you see any discussion of the ramifications of my knowledge of she and he since they agree with ye, the same they be...

thank ye for topiking back the thread in which we bein' be...
