For Guys in UK..
Whats the kind of suit that is normaly worn there... Double Breasted, Single breasted or 3 - piece suits... which one would you recomend for a college student...(not for regular wear ofcourse)....

I''m posting from the US, but double breasted suits are normally reserved for "larger" men (and to eliminate confusion, I'll throw in the word "fatter"). David Letterman (US late-night TV comedian) wears a double breasted suit here's a picture Single breasted suits generally look better on slimmer men. The third piece (the vest) is generally pretty optional, but sometimes added to "dress up" a bit "more" The jackets also have different numbers of buttons, with two or three being pretty "standard" Oh, and don't get a white suit unless you're Mr. Suave Go with a dark color.

hm.. saw that picture.. if that guy is called fat everyone here is fat for sure... Ok consider that i am as 'FAT' as the fellow in the picture.. which one would you suggest...

There are few occasions when a regular uni student in England would require a suit. A smart pair of trousers, and an unpretentious blazer/jacket will cover all but the most unusual situations.

If you plan to get married or something, then you can always rent a penguin outfit for a day.

I lived and worked in the UK for years, and never once wore a suit.

OK, OK, I know I'm a girl, but this is something I learned in a silly required class where they teach you how to write resumes and do job interviews... Anyways, they said overweight men should not wear double-breasted suits because it just emphasizes your weight. Double-breasted suits are actually more flattering on slimmer guys, and I'd say anyone could wear single-breasted suits.. Also if you only get one suit, go with navy or dark grey -- black suits make you look like a mortician. (So they said.)

I have no idea about the vest... they never mentioned vests and I don't think they're standard, at least not for job interviews.

What IS the difference in a tux and a suit? Always wondered that..
