    Blew my apex seals

dunno how many of u will understand this..

Took a ride in the RX7 today, and raced a civic. I smoked the civic, but my car dropped to 1200 RPMs.....from 8000. So i pull over and shift into nutral and rev it up. shaking and barely doing it.....

wtf? So i put it in first and drive home. I plug the laptop into the cars boost controller and dload the maps. According to the computer my car shot to 45PSI boost....it can only handle 38!!! I normally run at 24...this means my boost controller failed. Long story short my tubo's spooled too early and the boost was too high and it leaned burned. 1900.00 fix....$$$$

Dude, you talk so much crap. For once, show proof of something. Take a picture of you with your car.

that's practically 3 bars.. what turbos are you running?

so, your boost controller stopped working and the turbos just kept spooling?

so nothing else but the seals blew?

    >>Take a picture

Im going to, a friend borrowed my camera to take pictures of some stuff he wants to put on ebay. I also plan to take pics of my quads, computer, jeep, mustang, and a few other things if you care.

    >>that's practically 3 bars.. what turbos are you running?

It was three, my jaw dropped and i damn near $$$$ myself. My turbos are the stage one kit from

    http://www.srmotorsports.com/sr93trbo.html

I'm running a turbo cooler on them (93's are twin turbo), so they are ok.

    >>your boost controller stopped working and the turbos just kept spooling

Yea the boost controller should have defaulted but it apparently doesnt know it did anything wrong. The logs show a normal boost then it just shoots up. My buddy owns a import shop hes going to plug in my haltech and evrything in the morning and see what the hell went wrong. As far as whats blown i know its the apex seals because i dumped some ATF in there and it got a lil compression back but not for long. Thinking of getting a new motor from atkins rotory with a j-spec, not sure tho.

We were going down 55 (highway) at a comfortable 75 in cruise control and he kept riding my ass. So i took it off of CC and took it up to 85, speeding, and he did it again.

So im like wtf ok ill move over. So i switch to the other lane and he pulls up on me. Im with my g/f just driving ya know and hes got the whole hat sideways "thug" thing going. O god lol.

So he keeps speeding a lil and coming back. Now i know he must be an idiot, cuz u have to be to try and mess with a 93 RX7 in a civic, even stock to stock!

I shook my head at him and he gets back behind me, hes at it again. So i pulled over into the lane i was in and slowed so we were even. I waved him on and nodded my head, and he took off. So i shifted up and took off, well u couldnt even hear his fart muffler (fast n furious sounding ones) over my turbo's spooling up, and then i was gone, and since i spooled it up and i dont do that usually (its hard on the car to race ya know) i decide3d to run it all the way out, it was when i came down from top speed it started being funny.

I know of some civics that would give you a run for your money..

Have you been at the track and see what type of quarters you run?

Theres a few around here, only one that actually gets me. Stock for stock tho a 7 takes it. You have to do more to a civic then a RX7, i love those rotaries.

Yea i ran at ATCO speedway with consistant high 11's at 168MPH, give or take a few seconds. Best i EVER ran was 10.8 but that was running rich with a boost of 35 so i was rlly pushing it. I havent done a whole lot to it. Non-sequential turbo's with coolers and boost controller, intercooler, K&N intake, greddy exhaust with 3 inch downpipe, better radiator, 1600CC injectors, aftermarket fuel rails, 3MM apex seals, MSD ignition, Haltech system, and a Mazdaspeed body kit.

very true, you do have to do more to a civic.

    quick times..

give or take a few seconds
that could put you into 8s or 14s..

but i know what you meant..

I wouldn't expect it to be, unless you're an extremely consistent driver (same time and mph every time), which wouldn't exactly be ideal since you wouldn't be able to have faster times..

    but at that..

good luck with fixing the FD..

rotaries are great. i might pick up an RX-8 next year (oh, yeah, RENESIS baby) as a grad present. to bad they didnt turbo charge it but its still pretty slick, 250 hp but only like ~180 ft pounds of torque. cant beat suicide doors though.
