Question New board idea - no don't shoot me

There are several great threads that have been buried deep within the caverns of the cprog server. Perhaps it would be nice to have a closed board or limited access board like the FAQ of the top 10 threads ever at cprogramming.com

You guys remember that one where we made up new definitions for computer terms? Great thread. There are more like it as well. Of course, the only criteria we could use for popularity would be the post counts - which might include some not so great flame wars from the past - threads that none of us ever want to see again.

Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

    Gotcha.

Even though I've been here for some time, there are still some unexplored nooks and crannies of cprog.

::blinks slowly:: I think that was part of the joke there, Salem.

How about a sticky in the contest board where people post links to their favorite threads Contest board is underused anyways

Err, yeah, 'cos the contest board has a lot in common with "my favourite thread is..."

The FAQ forum is present, if you want a thread moved there for future enjoyment, ask a mod, and they'll consider it.

You can rate a thread too.

Dude, you're compiling the hammer.cpp file all wrong. You totally left out the -senseofhumor switch

Nah, I tried that once, and it caused an overload. I'm thinking of adding an -addrolleyesinallgdposts option though, just save me clicking that icon each time. (damn there I go again! )

Well at least it wouldn't just be collecting dust...

Old electrons slowly settle there... Poor old thing.
The word rap as it applies to music is the result of a peculiar phonological rule which has stripped the word of its initial voiceless velar stop.
