Yep exactly.. ANd if you try to tell there partents they are like"My johny would never do anything like that".

I really think that the right to defend our selves has been erroded. If someone breaking into my house.. they can be sure they will be looking down the barrel of a 9mm. There is a think called self defense. It sickens me what lawyers have dont to the law. And its been perperated down to the school.

Yeah, when I can, I plan on getting a pistol for my home defense, and you just lost all rights by breaking into my house, and I have no idea if you may have a high-tech weapon, so I will take the first move.

Screw the burgler. I may even put up a sign.

On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.

LOL. Hey, the second amendment is there for a reason. Give you two guesses what. As for kids I think they need to learn that fighting is not the answer but when attacked kick the sh17 out of the punk/bully who starts it. Sill in school (college) I still see people who are willing to fight at the drop of a hat. Its sad to see people who think that "respect" is won only by beating someone up. Man sometimes I do wish we would end up in a matrix, so that all this cr4p can be stopped. Its sad how many kids get away with this stuff and how mean they are. And they grow up into mean adults and make the world a horrible place to live.

I don't understand any of this...I have never fought with anyone and therefore have never been bullied...I find that not being stupid and saying stupid (i.e. "mean") things to people makes for a better life.
If you treat people with respect, they will at least ignore you.

jaWiB, look at your sig, you know, all it takes for the bad peple to win is for the good guys to do nothing.

Some people just seem to live for fighting, as it may be the only thing that they are semi-good at. Beat them down, and they probably won't be doing it right away.

Were you there? BTW, I didn't start it, I retaliated.
This guy was about 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 250 pounds, he was very mean. He often bullied other kids, and loved getting away with it. So one day at lunch, while I was outside, he just held me there and dumped an entire 591 mL bottle of coke all over me and stood there laughing(btw, having sticky coke all over you for the day really sucks, so people that do things like that deserve pain). So I punched him in the face and started to kick him(which did little), whats bad about that? He deserved it, and he was 5 years older than me. If I was larger I would've done worse. There is no problem with retaliating against bullies, even if they do, or don't, get hurt.

I would feel much safer at school if there were less people with that kind of mentality.

Somehow I doubt Edmund Burke was talking about bullies at school. If there were more danger in just letting the administration handle fights, then I wouldn't just sit around. Plus that post about the "nerd" who didn't stand up for himself...well I think that you guys shouldn't be saying that the rules suck unless you actually tried to help him. That would be one case in which a good person should take action, but fighting rarely solves anything.

You possibly have the worst outlook on fighting of anyone i have ever encountered. We didnt help him because we cant afford the suspension. Were both 18, the jock isnt, in NJ thats instant aggravated assualt, plus we wouldnt be able to walk with our class.

You don't have to help him fight, you can help me against the administration.

Isnt that crazy? I mean, that teaches kids not to do anything for themselves, and to rely on autorities. Personaly, if some kid started hurting me, I hit him/toss him where it hurts, so they won't do that to me or one of my friends ever again.

    Does that make sense?
    You are right...

But don't be negative...Try to them in your high school that they are wrong, you should just stand like this and do nothing, right!

Just do your best, and I'm sure many students and parents will agree with you.

The right to bear arms was written when people had muskets...hardly a weapon of mass destruction. Anyway, having a gun is not the answer. In my country, joe blogs can't get a gun, and that means chances are your burgler doesn't have one either. In America you have a "everyone else has guns...i better get a gun too, to protect myself", i just think countries where only the cops legally own guns are better countries to live in.

Back on topic, i was never in a single fight ever, except for a few pushes and shoves, but i don't think it would hurt to assess those involved, i mean really, a jock and a nerd in a fight, who started that? It's not brain surgery. Most bullies exhibit clear bully behaviour, but i guess that's too much effort for the U.S. public school system.

apologies for any anti-U.S sentiment, unintentional

    >>who started that?

The jock just out and hit him, but after the football coaches and all the "pro jocks" got into it the report read that the nerd had insulted him repeatedly, it was crap.
