I'd just like to note that I go to the gym 2 hours a day, 7 days a week.

And I'm still a damn good programmer

Isn't that a bad thing? If you exercise too much then you'll get muscle deterioration instead of growth. Also, muscles actually grow after the workout during a day or two of recovery, if you deny them the recovery stage, you do more harm than good. Wow, who'd have thought I'd use health class stuff outside of health class.

that's why you shouldn't exercise the same muscles everday.

I do spinning class everyday (another name for cycling class).

    I lift weight 3-4 times a week.

And I do abs the days that I don't lift weights.

And I stretch everyday. And that's the two hours right there!

Good or bad, I don't know. But it seems to keep me healthy

I resent that! That is stereotypical. Bios ninja is a hardcore programmer and he's built like a tank. I myself am not unnatractive. How DARE you insult hardcore male programmers in such a bigoted manner?

Isn't it bad enought that we had to be teased in school? Do we have to be haunted by the memories of those bad days until we DIE ?!?

My lack of female companionship is NOT due to my looks! It is due to the fact that I'm one bizarrely sane, freakishly clever, strange mannered being.

    OK ?!?

Ahem. Apologies for temporary outburst. No intention to offend, just to let off a little steam.

I didn't say there weren't exceptions. Just mentioning that most of the male programmers I know aren't big into working out.

Maybe I'm slightly jaded because people think I'm stupid when it comes to computers because I'm a girl.

But in my experience girls ARE lost when it comes to computers...

No, seriously, it's about getting to know the person. It's too easy to apply a stereotype and ignore deviating information.

And it's also too easy to form an incorrect stereotype. You for example conclude that coders don't generally work out. Did you take a poll to support your conclusion? Did you compare it to the statistics for working out in the general population? You just don't know until you research it.

If there is a stereotype about hackers (hardcore programmers) it's that there is no stereotype.

Tough stuff, this tissue. If you want it tight, it'll be hanging loose; if you want your cheeks to be flapping in the wind as you run down wherever, they'll be clinging to the cheek bone for dear life.

Anyway, I too have struggled with having flabby cheeks. People used to call me Flabby O'Cheekster. Then one day, inspired by Richard Simmons, I decided to get my cheeks moving. I sat down at the nearest Chinese buffet and began my regimen. I should have done a little research beforehand though because eating more food just makes them flabbier. Yeah, I learned my lesson and developed a series of exercises to work the jaw and cheek muscles like nobody's business. Now I have bulging cheek musculature thanks to my perseverence.

    Remember: You konn doo eet!
