How often do you use "View New Posts"?

How much do we use the feature "View New Posts" ?

How many of us really use the feature.

    One more thing,
I suggest "Member Introductions" board for new members to be introduced with all others.
I guess that will help them for an easy start and improve the situation of dropout from cboard.

This will be a board where every new member will be introduced. That one will be the starting board of our site. You can put it at the top of all. One will get the link in the first mail after signup. He will be requested to introduce himself at the board. He can tell about his name, his job, interests, where he is from, etc.. though those information is available in user profile.

I don't think it would be needed to have a special board for that.
As for where you're from, your occupation etc... there are fields to fill in in your profile preferances. If someone is interested, they just click the profile to see it.

As for the original question, I don't think I have used it to date.

What would they post, something like:
Err, yeah, hi I'm a noob, and errmm ... my name is Hammer. Let's do lunch sometime. Laters...

I think it was a clever* ploy to slip in his "idea".

    Also:

"I suggest "Member Introductions" board for new members to be introduced with all others." is the stupidest idea on this board to date.

    *not clever at all

How about a mandatory flaming for the people who ask us to do their homework or post "My program doesn't work. What's wrong with it?' instead? And a stern kick in the rump for anyone that doesn't use code tags.
    Away.

Fixed for my purpose. I vote "You Bet". I'm also for him stopping PM spamming.

Leave him alone. I never use the "view new posts" thing. I'm on here rarely enough that this feature is pretty useless. As for "Member Introductions", good idea, but it sounds too much like a dating service.

What's that? You'd like to be introduced to my member? Hmmm...I don't play for your team.
    Away.
