(AIDS) Bush May Have Done Something Right

Whether you have hated almost every action President Bush has taken since his inauguration or loved every word that has come out of his mouth, President Bush may now be proposing something beneficial to everyone, especially the poor and undereducated people in Africa and the Caribbean. His proposal is a glimmer of the compassionate that I would like to see in compassionate conservatives. In this case, President Bush may be bringing U.S. support to a war everyone would like to see won: the war against AIDS.

"minorities" dont have to pay taxes and were woundering why it doenst add up?

i think my global teacher said it best, we dont need a change, we need a revolution!!!!

i now this is kinda a ramble but ive been hearing alot of commuists lately. im surprised about how many techies are commies to.

wonder how long its gonna take for a flame.....or something about gore creating the internet or clinton not being the us version of hitler.

I was typing a similar sentence when i noticed your post came first. late by a few seconds ah well.

    liberal/democratic/ball-less/momas boy communists
I just found out that liberal democrats& communists are
    the same.
and they all belong to an exclusive club of men without balls.

How Did you discover their ball_lessness?

I guess it was a private moment.

    .

normally i would argue for a while about this, but it never pays off.
take alook at the average(not all, but most) democrats/liberal and check out the reblicans and conservatives? who follows the constition? who wants to spend american money in amerca first and then see about 3rd world countries? who actuallys stands for something(no one wanted to go after hitler when he became the chan-so-ler when people new that *something* would happen. we couldnt just take him. he had planes to cause some havoc here, he sent a team over here. luckily one man turned in them all).

how can you agree any of this stuff? wow, bush wanted to attack a countried that attacked us first. bush wanted to attack a country that would do if they could, could do it soon(years) and could possibly do it reallys soon. bush doesnt think people who make more that minium wage should pay more than half there pay check for taxes, even thought there so "rich"

they only thing i dont like about his administration is something ive beend hearing about his guys and the iraa and the dmca. some of the homeland security is bull but atleast hes doing something.

what would clinton/gore do? goto the un so in a mear 20years we can hear how we are always wrong. we only fight every war. pay for every war. and attempt to help out other countries.

the whole political correctness has gotten out of hand. even textbooks are changing for the democrats/liberal. what little about the us/people from europe before the us get in my textbooks(i am in high school) always seems to make us to be the bad guys or just not important.

something got to change here. while some democrats say they are proud democrats and are opposed to everthing i just said, i think that makes then republicans!!!!

if this wasnt a rant before, its a rant now....

I like Bush (or at least I think he's better than Gore would have been), but the American government has the duty to spend American money on Americans, not people across the globe, no matter how bad they might need it.

    I agree.

There's a simple stop to aids. Abstinance. Or monogomy with a clean partner, your pick. No, it doesn't stop blood transfered aids, but it sure is one hell of a way to stop it. Best of all, it's free.

"The price of advanced antiretroviral (ARV) drugs, which can effectively suppress the AIDS virus in infected people, has fallen from more than $12,000 to under $300 per year."

"According to the UN, nearly half sub-Saharan Africa's 600m people live on less than $1 a day; the trend in life expectancy is declining; and improvements in health and education have been minimal in the last decade. Despite high growth rates, Ghana's average wage of just under $400 a year is the same as 40 years ago. "

Even a "liberal/democratic/ball-less/momas boy communists" like me can see that these peolpe need a living wage to survive.

Quoted for emphasis. Well, I'll emphasize the first part, at least.

    > so we have no probelms here?

    Nope, it's a Utopia. Jackass.

You know, martman - some boards aren't good fits for some people. Some people just don't meet the minimum intelligence requirement to have a reasonable conversation. Maybe you should try nickelodeon.com's boards or something.

I've read the first post along with the link and also the others; But its strange it seems that HIV/AIDS is facts that exists on its own, first you have to make sure that a country where you want to reduce HIV infections has a good economy. Coz you (rich countries) cant keep paying for campaigns and whatever to inform ppl and to buy prevention stuff.

Its not that im not willing to help al these ppl but you have to look at the real problem, its not for nothing that HIV/AIDS is wideley spread in poor regions/countries. I mean there are alot more HIV infected persons in Africa then there are in Europe or wherever.

So i think before you can start a "war" against AIDS you have to start a war against poverty.

I'm just starting to realize how bad some situations are since im going away next year for a year to Nigeria to do voluntary work.

I think a more important issue is the was against US ignorance.

First, the US need to get some free media and some freedom of speech.

For those of you who haven't got it, I intented to write "I think a more important issue is the WAR against US ignorance".

    But just look at this:

"The street corners of Tikrit were decorated with homemade shrines to Saddam Hussein yesterday, small portraits decked with flowers lying on the pavements. The US had banned all birthday celebrations at Saddam's birthplace and former powerbase, but throughout the town residents marked the former dictator's 66th birthday with quiet defiance."
    http://www.pakistanidefenceforum.com...T&f=8&t=11194&

Is that what the US call freedom???

And do you know what media was and what media wasn't allowed to report from the Gulf war?

The US goverment, with it's Messian politics, is evil. I feel sorry for most of the people living in it. First, we need to encourage, but of course not force, people in the US to give up the Christian faith, which has happened to a large extent over here in Europe. It's purely en-stupiding, not like a scientific religion, like Islam.
