    Zelda comes out early

Yeah, I know most of you don't care, especially since it's only like a two day difference, but I'm thoroughly excited. Apparantly, Funcoland is getting it in early tomorrow. Hooray!

Mine should be here on tuesday/wednesday... Sucks, though. I
sold my Gamecube a few weeks ago (need emergency money.
Damn dealers and their stupid "no credit" policies). I won't be
able to buy another one for at least a month... On top of that,
I also need a Gameboy Advance SP. Argh!!!

Babbage's called me and said they're having an midnight release party at our store for it... Wish I could go - I'll just have to pick it up tomorrow after work... I think Jackass comes out on DVD tomorrow, too

You lucky bastards! You lucky lucky bastards!

Here in sweden we won't get it until May...

Oh, does anyone have Metroid Prime? Is there any way to unlock the original metroid without buying a gameboy advance. I have no intention to spend money on one just for this.

The new Zelda looks like it is going to suck imo. i played the demo at wal-mart and i could barely stand it. the look that they went with just does not appeal to me. i think ill just stick to playing orcarina of time.

I think the cel-shading really adds quite a bit to it - gives it a cartoony feel that's appropriate for the world, IMO.

A review I saw in a magazine (don't remember which one) gave it a 10/10...

edit: The mag was Game Informer.

Well, it did get a 40 in Famitsu. Very few games get a 40 in that.

ign.com gave it a 9.6/10.0 (mind you they have never given a 10 for gamecube games).

Picked it up last night. I didn't have time to play it much (that'll be tonight), but the cel shading is *very* well done and the animations are great.

I swear everyone is nuts. I just don't see the appeal in cartoony zelda. id rather they go for the real look that they were going to at first. but it seems im in the miniority that feels this way. oh well maybe they'll make another one that looks better.

Well, my reasoning's that the whole world's always had a pretty cartoony feel (I mean just think about the monsters you fight) - this was just following through.

i agree with govtcheez, if you look back at even ocarina of time or majora's mask, it's always been kind of "cartoony". but i agree that this current one, the wind waker, took the cartoon look a little further. if you want a realistic looking link, then wait for soul calibur ii to come out. anyways the good news is i hear the storyline in this version of zelda is great and has a few surprises (not predictable like the older versions).

I like the cartoony style...now. But I'd still like a Zelda game with
the graphics that were shown in the SpaceWorld '00 trailer, or
from the opening video to Super Smash Bros Melee. I imagine
that we'll be getting another Zelda before the end of GCN's
lifespan -- especially considering how many copies have already
been sold through Nintendo's pre-order campaign.

The GCN version of Soul Calibur II is going to be great...

Now that I have Zelda, it's time to wait impatiently for F-Zero GC.
    It never ends...

Around Ohio, we have a word for people worried about such things as whether or not a game was cel shaded: Graphics wh0re.
