I can't see any cricket, and I've not found any webcasts. Sad. I'm sticking with Australia to win. There have been some real suprises, the poor performance of South Africa is mystifying.

Right now India are charging against Pakistan, they scored 27 off the first 2 overs!

    India 139/2 off 19 overs !!!

With Sachin on fire like this maybe the match will be over in another 20 overs or so !!!

Personally, I hate this game. I feel it's only for the aged class. I don't have patience to sit for 8+ hrs to watch a single match, while the result can be judged in the very first few hours itself. But there are people who sit even 5 days continous to watch the Test matches of this game.
India has given a little over publicity to the players of this game, something they don't deserve. There is also overflow of money on this game here, while there are better games to be supported like football, there's profuse waste of money spent on this game.

face it dude. They are professionals like you and me. They go out for their job everyday and get paid for it. Where are people like you when these cricketers get injured and are out of sport for a season which makes them go without pay for as long as they turn fit and return to the side. Kumble from your town was injured and was out of cricket for over a year without pay. Did we see you raising hell over that ? ... I still do not figure out how you allege a 'waste of money' over here.

    >whew ! maybe Nostradamus took a few lessons from you !
Pathetic sense of humour you have!

Most of the players in the Indian team are professionals/big shots. For instance, Ganguly is supposed to be a prince in his hometown, Kumble/Srinath is an engineer, etc. I'm sure none of them would die of starvation if they went out off the field even for years, because by now they are all millionaires.

    >They are professionals like you and me
I never disagreed they were not professionals, but only said, they have been given something in excess, something they don't deserve even in the lowest quantity. Look at their play, look at the players, they all play for themselves, not for the team. What happened to the Match Fixing scam that was unleashed, where almost every Indian player was accused?
I don't have any hatred to their income from this game, nor do I envy their publicity, but because of people like you, who support things for no cause, this game has reached where it is today in India. It has become a religion, and their players their gods, what a shame.

    >Kumble from your town was injured and was out of cricket for over a year without pay. Did we see you raising hell over that ..
He is still alive, neither was his life at peril due to lack of income. If you are so bothered about him, what have you done to help him?

Crores of rupees are spent on this game annually, if only these funds were transferred to some deserving charity cause, would have helped the needy very much.

With the departure of Tendulkar, the run rate has dropped to a crawl. Interesting match.

As I said on the other thread, not a single maiden over. Obviously a good batting track. Both Shoaib Akhtar and Ashish Nehra, who have played so well before went for over 70 runs from their 10.

An awful lot of extras from both sides as well. 55 in the match.

    >How many of you watching Cricket?

I don't watch cricket. Not that I don't like it, but here in the Netherlands it is not a popular sport, so there is very little of it on TV, radio and in the newspapers. I have seen several small pieces of cricket-games on BBC, while zapping on TV, but I didn't understand it.

Not even when Holland are playing? I think the Holland v Namibia game on Monday will be quite entertaining.

Yeah, I do strongly agree with you. Considering time, Cricket is very expensive game (I guess most expensive). It Takes lot of time of lots of people, takes lots of space, time of media, etc. Most important is time of spectators. It's too much.

Is it a true story that Hitlar killed the German Cricket Team long ago because of 5 day long test match ended without any result.
