So Flintoffs 50, hero with the bat as well as the ball today. After Nehra's 10 were up, things have steadied, but I still think it is too late.

India won by 82 runs !!!

I wish England had put up a better fight. Things seem to be spiralling their way when Flintoff was on fire. The Indian middle order saved the day for them plus some excellent support in the bowling department from Nehra. I'd like to see the man-of-the-match award shared between Nehra and Flintoff. It was their day.

Pakistan Beware ! 2 days to go !

A good result for India, and well done Ashish Nehra. The comment I made about the change in fortunes after his 10 would worry me though. If he had not been firing, or if the top order had seen his 10 off, I think things may have been different!

So I guess now, if Namibia beat Australia tomorrow, and then England do the same Sunday, the group should be well interesting! Yeah, I know, it is not necessary to comment

    >>what the hell is a wicket?<<

The wicket is basically the stumps (the things the batsman has to defend) where the batsman stands and faces the bowlers.

Also, when the fieldng team get a batsman out, it's know as getting a wicket.

We have been looking for world cup webcasts, audio or video, but there don't seem to be any. I guess one of the big sports networks has exclusives.

    Anyway, todays first match...

    Australia 301 for 6 off 50
    Namibia 45 a.o. off 14

    Australia win by 256.

I thought the Austarlians lost more wickets then I expected. Good bowling figures from Glen McGrath. Lot of extras, indeed, Namibias highest "scorer".

    The other game...

    South Africa 254 for 8 off 50
    Canada 136 for 5 off 50

    South Africa win by 118.

Same as Aus, the SA batsmen seemed to toil. Bowlers not firing well either, good result for Canada.

South Africa really seem blunt in group B. I was expecting them to torture all their opponents at home. But their performance (when compared to recent world cups) is a big question ! Somehow, the fizz seems to have disappeared from the can of coke. ::

I agree. I was certainly expecting them to be a handful. Allan Donald has had a really torrid time he was 1 for 106, and reckons his career will be finished if he doesn't get a 3 or 4 wickets today. Certainly I would have had them down as one of the favourites coming into the cup, but they'll do well to reach the next round on current form.

    >>Good bowling figures from Glen McGrath.

    He looked unplayable at times.

A massive 28 run last over from Lehman. 4,4,4,6,4,6 to get to 50 off the last ball
    of the innings.

yes, it was the first tight match in the world cup so far.

    India Vs Pakistan tomorrow !!!

Pakistan has never defeated India in the previous world cups. And my gut feeling says that they won't trouble the record books this time too
