    Talking Daily Joke 2/19

well... since I can't do this over at FD...

Jesse Jackson is visiting a primary school and he visits one of the classes. They are in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asks the Rev. Jackson if he would like to lead the discussion on the word tragedy". So the illustrious leader asks the class for an example of a "tragedy".

One little boy stands up and offers: "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a runaway tractor comes along and knocks him dead, that would be a tragedy."

"No," says the Great Jesse Jackson, "that would be an accident."

A little girl raises her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children
drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy."

"I'm afraid not," explains the exalted spiritual leader. "That's what we would call a great loss."

The room goes silent. No other children volunteer. Rev. Jackson
searches the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"

Finally at the back of the room a small boy raises his hand. In a quiet voice he says: "If a jet carrying the Rev. & Mrs. Jackson were struck by a missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy."

"Fantastic!" exclaims Jackson, "That's right. And can you tell me why that would be tragedy?"

"Well," says the boy, "because it certainly wouldn't be a great loss and it probably wouldn't be an accident either."

baits etc. Not so 'stricked' as this board. Anyway, No hard
feelings ment, Was a little tired.....

Is this bandwidth thing calculated per month? That'd be $$$$ed

Yeah, heard that one before. Good.

Though before I heard it about George Bush. Must admit, I don't know who Jesse Jackson is. Heard the name but that's it.

Oldie but a goodie (except before I always heard it with Clinton)
    Um... :FRlol: ?

    > Allot of one-liners

Yeah, because there are none of those here. Besides - who cares how long a post is if it gets its point across. As for the rest of the stuff, you were banned before you even got a chance to post there, so I don't know how you can pretend to have a grasp on what the site was like.

    1) Minesweeper's not from the US, so he didn't exactly have a say
    2) Some of us did vote for Gore (technically, more people than voted for Bush, but that's a debate for another day)
    3) Anyone with that high of a profile will be a source of jokes. It's not like ober's joke (or mine or minesweepers versions) are intelligent criticisms of them - they're just jokes.

hey... he closed that thread for a reason... don't go jumping on another thread trying to get your stupid point across.

And yes, with a site like this or FD, you have a limited amount of bandwidth per month. Why would that be so $$$$ed up?

Alright! Stop it - we're not doing this anymore. Anymore discussions about fd before rick or fordy come in and actually say something are going to be deleted immediately.
