The utter incapability of spelling properly, even in ones mother tongue, seems to be something exceedingly common on the internet. I've just began to think it is done purposefully. Something to do with the informality, and the anonimity of the internet, maybe. It is difficult to believe that so many people would care so little for their grammar as to write in such a manner if their identity were known to all. That is assuming most people are self-respecting.
Another thing that is very interesting about this phenomena is that when confronted about it most of the people who do this react in a extremely hostile manner. Sometimes claiming to be proud of the way they put their thoughts in writting.
Of course, approaching them with contempt never helps.
I, for one, like to write the best way i can, and am always happy to be corrected.
adios,
biterman.
Do you know how contemptous they are of you?
Intrusting...

Very actually, i have never come across much of gamegod's posts. But i know wat you are trying to imply on, for i'm one such too. Though not really my style of writing is the same as above mentioned by Evenflow....to some extent i belong to that category(i'm trying my best to avoid tt in this forum, for i already got shot in one of the threads in Cprogramming).
Well, on behalf of my fellow "so" writers(seems like i can form a committee..hehe*), lemme talk. It is not that our vocabulary/ grammar is poor or watsoever u can assume as(i got A2 for my high skool english..hehe). Speaking of fact, i picked up this language from one of the forums too and all sorts of funny abbreviations from the SMS world. Thatz a trendy world with full of code words and funny spellings(eg: hiya, can gif thiz 2 tcher n' den get mii my buk 4rm her??), eventually we might come up with a dictionary too. Communicating that way is much easier and faster to type, in addition itz so informal and feels relaxed. Itz actually fun, yet irritating to some, especially 4 those who are new to this would tend to scratch head and bash us upside down.
So to my best, i will keep off my funny language when i speak to strangers. Though i don't entertain the usage of such languages formally i love it....itz cool actually!!

To Err Is To Be Human. To Game Is Divine!"
Sia is actually juz a suffix...like to say cool sia!! great sia...hard sia...u know, to give a punch to the expression!!
Note: This sia has got nothing to do with the Sia in my nick "siagal".

See, I don't understand this. How can a dictionary
help someone spell? If they can't spell the word,
how are the going to look it up? It just boggles
the mind... Eh, well, it boggles my mind.
Staying away from General.
I think spelling is highly overrated.
I think language in general is highly overrated...
I remember back in the good ol' days when we all used to sit around the camp-sticks grunting at each other...
For instance the day the day Garth invented fire... his right arm caught ablaze and he was grunting and howling like a madman. All those in attendance were in no doubt that his vocalisations, while devoid of any grammar or inflections, quite clearly meant "Christ, this doesn't half hurt".
And when it came time to perform the day's diary duties, we had no need for small meaningless squiggles to represent this hilarious moment in history... the cave-wall-sized picture we all helped draw provided all the details we needed... not to mention a source of humour for generations to come...
>Sia is actually juz a suffix...

Humourous thread. Very.
