    See you in 15 months!

Tomorrow my 15 months military service will begin.
    Wohoo

But I will go home over most weekends, so I suspect that I'll drop by now and then.

I'd actually like to say thank you. I'm not brave enough at heart to sign my name into the service, and it gives me a great deal of respect for men and women that do. So thank you and the millions of others who have the honor and bravery to fight for our freedom, be it our country or another, we are all on this planet together, fighting for one common freedom. May god be with you, and i hope every one here will join me in wishing you a safe and happy return.

I think people in the service deserve alot of respect, seriously. If you cannot respect them for it, or understand my point, F_M, then i feel sorry for you in that respect.

I didn't feel the sarcasm in your last post was needed, as mine was of a serious note.

    Sang-drax, is that compulsory service?

I didn't realise that any of the more developed european countries still had compulsory military service.

EDIT: Though I really wish they DID!!!! I know our country would be a LOT better off if the obnoxious youth round my area had a sergant major to beat the attitude out them!!

Germany, too, has compulsory service. As far as I remember Sweden has troops in many UN Peacekeeping actions, is that right ?

Keep your head down, stay out of minefields and have fun if you can.

She was so Blonde, she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice can because it said "Concentrate."

When in doubt, read the FAQ.
    Then ask a smart question.

Well... not everyone gets to do it.
But the military chooses the people they want based on grades and compulsory tests.
If you are chosen, you must do it, otherwise you go to jail.

My education is quite good and gives good merits though. I'll be studying some time at a University.

Personally, I believe it's going to be fun, but in principle I'm against the system. It costs lots of money that could be used elsewhere IMO.
