This idiot in my networking class has been spouting the "glories" of an xbox mod chip he's heard about that acts as a ps2 emulator. Is it just me or would it be unlikely that such a thing would have even so much as passable performance, given the amount of power emulation requires compared to the power of the original console?

well, xbox is a newer system, is it faster? if so it may be able to do a reasonable job of ps2 emulation. I don't really know.
