    Music - Interpol

If there are any people out there who are fans of Joy Division, the Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen etc. Check out New York band Interpol.

Had this CD (Turn on the Bright Lights), in the caddy for quite some time now - can't get enough of it. It has a unique fresh sound to it, but is very reminicent of the post punk british guitar bands from the late 70's early 80's.

On another note, it was very sad to hear of the death of Joe Strummer lead singer, songwriter, guitarist etc. of the Clash on the weekend.
"Queen and huntress, chaste and fair,
Now the sun is laid to sleep,
    Seated in thy silver chair,
    State in wonted manner keep."

I might have to check them out, most of what i listen to is really old punk stuff. Yeah the joe strummer thing does really suck. They were getting inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame too. I would have loved to seen the clash together one last time.

Yes - it's sad when people you have grown up admiring, whether it is musically or whatever start passing away. We played "London Calling" in the office today LOUD - it wasn't that long ago we were playing The Ramones, and quoting Hitch Hikers Guide.

You can find out about Interpol here. Not a great deal of info, so Amazon may be a better place to check them out at, but I have to say that the singles aren't actually the best bits of the album, the good bits are hidden.
