    Die another day

What did you think of the new Bond movie?

I thought it was nice, with lots of action and sfx, but a little too science fiction for being a Bond movie. I mean most of the gadgets bond use are fictional, but at a reasonable level.

I also miss Desmond Llewelyn (sp?). This is the only movie (except the first one) that he didn't act in (for a natural reason). He's so great .

it was alright.. much better than the last one (tomorrow never dies? something like that... that one sucked, IMO). though i'm not a big fan of bond movies.. or action movies in general.

on a side note.. what was up with them using those wire cutters when they were going to get on the plane? doesn't he have some sort of laser in his watch to cut through it instently? bond doesn't use wire cutters

I am surprised that the script was so bad. Some dialogue was embarrassingly worthless and many scenes has been seen too many times in B-movies. The logic is not that robust (hovercrafts are followed by cars over a minefield).
Still, it's Bond. Pierce Brosnan takes the role seriously and does a good job.

While it wasn't a great movie by any stretch of the means, I definately thought it was the best one of the the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies. I agree though that his gadgets were a little too unrealistic this time, what next, time machine?

Oh, and to add on to the wire cutters, how come there was a plane containing the highest North Korean generals and NOBODY was watching it take off to see two people running down a runway to catch it??

but something like that is expected from a bond movie.. wire cutters, on the other hand...

True, I guess I shouldn't complain about plot holes from a Bond movie I agree about the wire cutters!

Did anyone wonder how they got the car down in the abandoned subway station...? And got it out again?

    !

Premier in Denmark is 24/01/2003, (although a Scandinavian airline, Sterling I think, will be showing it on long distance flights before then).

Did anyone find the part where Bond "surfed" the tidal wave kinda unrealistic (to say the least)? Seriously, he was surfing with a piece of metal that he ripped from the land jet and was using the parachute to help him out. That's just too far out in left field for me.

The movie was very good. But, I thought that it strayed a little bit to far from Bond tradition, at points, for me. Other then a few points in the movie that bothered me it was a really good movie. I enjoyed it.

I did find it very unrealistic. That was one of the points that bothered me. Bond is a world class skier, but I've never seen him surf before. I've never seen a surfer that could do something like that.

As a film its passable. As a bond movie it sucks. The director and screenplay writers seem to have totally forgotten what made bond movies great in the first place. It was never special effects which is what at least the last 2 bond movies have been about.

Yeah, not only was the surfing scene unrealistic from a logical sense, it also LOOKED unrealistic. The computer animations from the faraway shot looked extremely fake and the close up was the most obvious use of a blue screen I have seen from recent films.

Oh, and how can somebody be tortured for 14 months and look perfect after only a shave and a haircut? Bleh, complaining about plot holes again

I don't like the whole idea of Bond movies, I don't think it's reasonably, I don't like the Bond character, because it's not realistic.
    none...
