    $70 is not free.

I'm doing an experiment. I think freeservers.com is doing false advertizing. They say several places that they offer premium wepsite hosting, and also free pages. Go to http://www.freeservers.com, and try getting a free web page. Come back here and give your results.

In each step there is a free service option, just choose it.

I did. I filled out all the application forms, and then it said, "The next step is to choose your pricing plan". One of which was $70.

Huh... doesn't make any sense... Well I guess it no longer matters. I found out about a site called NetFirms. They give you CGI support, only require a small bannerand then I just go dot.tk and I get a free domain name pointing to the website. Looks like the bestplan. It's still anoying about that freeservers thing though. Maybe it's just me - but I did click on everything that was labelled as "free".

Netfirms puts insane file limits on files, mornally goes slow, common FTP problems, cancels accounts alot, etc.

I reccomend nelie for most free servers:

brinkster.com is the best option, IMHO. You get a good amount of space, .NET support, a few other scripting supports (no CGI or PHP, but why would you want to use CGI anymore anyway?), and NO ADS. Not even a popup.
