    is this good?

Since I'm going to school, I can buy software at cheaper prices.

    Are these good deals?
    Microsoft Visual Studio.NET Pro - $30
    Microsoft Office XP Pro & Frontpage 2002 - $35
Microsoft XP Pro Upgrade(from any older windows version straight to XP Pro) - $25

So this is basically your attempt to flaunt at everyone that can get overpriced software at insanely cheap prices right?

You know that's a really mean thing to do? I don't thing there's any real value to this thread except for you to brag. I really should close it cause you're being a jerk . grumble grumble.

Cmon Kermi3....has anyone ever told you you're really special?

Actually, I was just wondering if there were a cheaper route or if the deals I have at my disposal are good deals. I'm not trying to brag, I know people who are in similar positions with other types of posessions not really related to computers, and I'm hella jealous man. No braggin' here.

    My school's prices:

    VS.NET Academic: Free
    Visio: Free
Any MS OS, server, whatever: Free

I think the only professional MS tool we can't get free is Office.

We can get copies of some, but not all.

Yes, I'll only use this while in school, blah be blah blah. ETC!

Those are great prices! Just make sure that there aren't any stupid restrictions with them, like not being able to save your work.

    > Just make sure that there aren't any stupid restrictions
There isn't any that I know of. I know a few students who have checked out multiple forms of the software, and they said they all worked fine for the particular class they needed them for while doing the work at home. That requires saving to a media for trasnport to school. Basically, if we use the software at home, we need the same performance we get in school. It allows you to do the same you do at school, at home, say if you're the type who has to budget their time.

Not saving and other restrictions would be pointless..

I think this answers the question "$300 for an operating system!?" Well maybe maybe theft is the actual reason...Maybe both.
