    Books

I know this doesn't really have a lot to do with programming, but oh well. A lot of the things in here have nothing to do with programming, like the God thing and NES games (although I'm not saying they were bad threads). Anyway...What is everyone's fav books to read?

Mine is "Why People Believe Weird Things: Pseudoscience, Superstition, and Other Confusions of Our Time." It's covers a wide range of topics from "Confronting Creationsts", to "How do we know the Holocaust Happened", and "The Unlikeliest Cult" and many other very intersesting stuff. It's also dedicated to the memory of the great Carl Sagan, 1934-1996.

I also like pretty much any book writen by Steven Brust.

I am currently reading July July by Tim O'Brien, I had read four of his previous novels, and they 3 of them were awesome.

I havent really read many novles besides his, I will look for something new, after I read the remaining 3 novels he has written.

I read Lord of the Rings too, may look for some other Tolkein books, hes got such an imagination.

I've always wanted to try Dante's Inferno. As for The Lord of the Rings books, I have a question. In your opinion are they better than the movie? I didn't really care for the movie, but I've heard lots of nice things about the books.

The first two posts are from exactly the same IP. Though the second post from bob20 is from a different IP, which incidentally, is the same as the one logged from webturtles most recent post... If you're in the same place and you're "two different people" why dont you just talk? Its a very useful form of communication that is generally much faster than online forums.

Do the people at Hastings know you are using their equipment to spam public forum's? This thread is not really spam, but yesterday the 4 of you were on a spree, and as a moderator of the board, I and other mods, used up their vauable time cleaning up after your abuses of the boards rules.

You are very welcome to post on the boards, but you must follow the rules, they are there to improve everybody's visits.

We have had trouble before with groups in class together, when it gets bad, a note to the school/college with the dates and times etc., is usually effective.

Please pass this note on to your friends.

In my opinion, YES. But that is only my opinion - you may not like the books depending on what it was you didn't like about the films.

Anyhoo - my fav book, The Lord of the Rings. Been reading it every year for quite a few years now.

In my opinion the most intresting book of all time is," A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking.
    If A equals success, then the formula is: A = X + Y + Z, X is work. Y is play. Z is keep your mouth shut.

The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings (obviously considering my name )...pretty much everything by Tolkien. What else...The Chronicles of Narnia, The Wind in the Willows, the Belgariad series, 2001: A Space Odessey, 2010: Odessey Two, Dune. I have many favourites, these are just some that spring to mind.

And the Holocaust is considered weird by this book? In what sense - that it did happen or it didn't? If it says the latter, throw the ****ing thing in the bin .

    See here for my thoughts.
