I agree. You can choose to have pop-ups in the background, or not show up at all. as for banners, i don't click on any.

There's on on this site that's really annoying. If you move your mouse over it...a window pops up. Very annoying.

    I'm surprised ..ah, nevermind.

its not that expensive to host a site and forum like this, $190(with MySQL DB,php, and all that good stuff 10,000 mb/month)+$20 for domain name, not sure what everyone always complains about

I'm going to take a poke in the dark and guess this site gets well over 10,000mb per month traffic. Seeing as it's first on the list for a lot of different searches at google (main ones being "C++ programming" "Cprogramming" or "C Tutorials".

Plus, it's non-profit. All the money is coming out of one persons pocket.

I dont know for sure, but I think its more than that...these forums eat bandwidth....

But then why not put your money where your mouth is!!?! - if spending money isnt an issue for you, I imagine you will waste no time in giving up your cash to help the running of this site.
There's a link on the main pages to allow you to make a donation for the running of this site - here
I'm sure the webmaster will be overjoyed when you make your contribution!!!!

i wouldnt contribute to this site because if they need all these ads and contributions theyre either A) paying too much for their host, or B) pocketing all that they get from contibs and ads

and i dont take anything for granted, $200 a year isnt a lot of money to anyone these days

If everyone contirbuted 50 cents a year as a membership fee, that would make the site run for a very long time.
Signature is optional, I didnt opt for one.

As of right now the owners of this site would recieve 2924 dollars a year if there was a 50 cent a year membership fee.

and as we discussed it would take roughly $200, $500 at the most
