    AIM patch....yeah right

What do you call it when a software patch creates more bugs than it solves?

One issued by AOL, that's what. I let my mouse hover over one of my idle buddies in AIM to see how long they've been idle...check this out...pay attention to the online and idle times...

Things like this make me glad i don't use their browser.

maybe its just that the program has gotten so complex it knows how long they have been sitting around doing nothing, even if they arent logged on.

i know, i know... i shouldnt be defending AOL...
I came up with a cool phrase to put down here, but i forgot it...

    >>so complex

    yeah...sure.
If by complex you mean unmaintanable mounds of code. I remember 2 betas ago they had hacked the update so bad that when you signed on or reopened the window and it refreshed your buddy list it actually showed the file download window (downloading data for the current list from the server). Those guys are so hilarious.

Actually it does do that. It is not a glitch. The idle time records the amount of time your computer has gone with no input at all from you, the user. Many times people have their computers set up to automatically log on to AIM at certain points in time, or when certain things happen, such as booting up or other things, and so when the computer logs the user onto AIM, without any user input, and the user has already been idle for a little while, it is possible that the idle time will be longer than the online time.

THAT'S JUST SILLY. Next we'll be saying the sequence of bits currently stored in my RAM resembles the DNA of frogs (resulting in mutant frogs jumping out of my processor)

what i love most about aol is they're DOM for javascript, in different versions they support if differently. They own netscape yet they support the DOM the same way IE does...i think they changed it in version 8 but i don't know....morons....hell would freeze over if they could write one decent peice of software.
