How does a Trojan horse desguise itself?

I am curious as to how it works...
Anyone have some knowledge to share with this question?

A Torjan horse is just a program that causes intentional malicious effects and tricks the user into running it by saying its another program. eg, there was a trojan called pkzip03.exe or whatever and people thought it was the installer for PK Zip.
