    Go a little over and get a GeForce4 Ti4200 for $120, it's a great deal.

Any GeForce chipset is a good deal. Usually the price is synonomous with the quality of graphics on those.

Another good card is the ATI Radeon. I've heard the latest 9000's really give the GeForce 4 a run for it's money. I also think they're a little more expensive.

Weel never liked Voodoo cards. A lot of my friends' Voodoo cards suffer from overheating.

Wouldn't the ati cards be better than the geforce cards? Saw saw graphs on the internet and the ati cards kicked some serious ass!!!

(lost the links to those graphs)

I'm inclined to agree here. 3DFX, rest its soul, shipped all their cards with minimal heating, as in, just enough. Once u tweak it needs bigger fans, but mine work nice and i only paid around $20 for the set.

There I don't quite agree. three of my my friends didn't overclock whilst the others overclocked, and lets just say...they deserved it.

Well mines o/c'd a little but it has no fans cuz they burnt out. Which is tempting fate cuz the exhaust coming out the rear fans of my case is rlly hott, think i am going to put my ATI Radeon 32mb DDR tv/tuner back in till i get new ones.

But why would the company bring out the cards if they knew that there was gonna be heat problems?

Because the market they are targeted twords demands high performance, and most of us know that with HP comes heat.

The cards were shipped with fans that were able to handle the voodoo 5's heat as long as it was kept with factory settings/drivers. It wasn't till i tweaked mine totally i replaced the fans.
