ConText, supports a variety of programming languages.
Also, don't forget to associate whatever program you use with .txt files.

Was this forum for the text editor you use to create C++ programs?? If so, I don't use notepad, I use Visual C++'s IDE.

ConTEXT is a good one, free, supports many programming languages and very easy to use.

CodeWright is even better, but it is not free and I thought it was quite expensive. I use it at work and it really works great.

I used to use PFE, Programmers File Editor, also a good one.

Where exactly is the poll then?

Anyway... here's mine

For Unix: vi
For Win: Ultra Edit
When all else fails, read the instructions.
If you're posting code, use code tags:
/* insert code here */
TEXTPAD ALL THE WAY!

by the way that extra stuff that fordy couldn't remember includes the expansibility to code for any language you wish. It already has defintion and syntax files for almost every language out there (literally hundreds) and from what i read it's quite easy to tweak and make your own (i modified the java and html .syn files to makea javascript defintion file)
PHP and XML
Let's talk about SAX

My text editor requires special hardware to work; this specific piece of hardware is, of course, a pencil sharpener.
