    Which should I buy first?

Microsoft Visual C++.NET or A programmable electronic stamp kit (a kit that teaches you how to implement circuts programmed by you into your electronics)? What would you chose?

i don't know... it was just an answer... but more specifically, I'd think I'd get more enjoyment out of an electronics kit than an IDE... but that's just me.

I would buy the Electronic stamp kit b/c :-

    1. I already have VC++ 6

    2. We get all sorts of pirated software here in Karachi... All the software they can fill up on a CD, and a CD costs only half US$.
which means I can get VC.NET + MSDN for 2-3 US$ or get it for free from some friend and copy it all up on my 40 GB HD.

    3. I will soon be joining B.E. Electronics

    4. I like to "implement circuts programmed by you into your electronics"

    Stamp kit, definitely...

You can get other compilers for free, or go Zeeshan's route...

Do you have a link to the stamp kit you're considering?

    Sure I do.

    Long long ago, when I started using computers first (10+ years ago - i'm 21 1/2), the family pc was a 486 +12mb ram & Windows 3.11.

    I had dos 6.22 memorized.
I was quick with a batch file, and gathered up all I could on Qbasic.
It was so interesting and facinating for me.
I wore a hole through the Qbasic help files, literally.
I read them front to back. Hours of staying up reading.
I wanted more input, but, unforunately, I had no more input.
    I was soo bummed out.

Unforunately, we did not get the internet untill way later.
Besides, the internet has only recently started to explode fast.

Anyhow, about 8+ years of non-internet computer use.
    I had that little 486/66mhz + 12mb RAM just a hummin'

    [end life story]
