Managed to give up that little habit a few years back.....

Never really liked it much......would go out, get drunk and automatically look for ciggies....then I would wake up in the morning, have a few fags left (brit slang BTW so dont bother!!!).......light them up and soon I was smoking all the time.......after a few years I decided that if I didnt give it the kick, then it would be harder later on.

I'm glad I didn't do it long enough to get so addicted that it would be difficult to quit.

Wow it's that bad??? I honestly don't comprehend how hard it is to quit...just from listening to stories of people having difficulty quitting makes me want to not ever start no matter what. Exactly what was it that made you guys start in the first place? Peer pressure or something??? I don't remember my first cigarette I tried...I think I wanted to try them since I was little, and then I smoked with friends in the woods for a while. I put out three cigarettes on my arm to show off, that was about three years ago and I still have major scars, my parents think it was a paintball gun though lol

    EDIT:
When I say I smoked with friends for a while, it was like one cig a week just to 'try' it...I never got addicted and have no cravings to have more to this day.

Tell your parents the truth, you wuss. It's lies like that that lead to legitimate paintball being banned.

6 months & counting. Quitting is hard for the first 4 weeks. You feel like crap - stomach upsets, colds, flu-like symptoms etc. After that it's all downhill. I have no problem with anybody who smokes. It's all down to personal choice. I just had too many mornings coughing up bits of lung for an hour when I woke up. Patches worked for me, but you get some wicked dreams if you leave them on overnight.

Good job Ober doesn't need to quit - the instructions say stick on a hair-free area .

Studies show that smoker are in general stronger than non smokers in a sense that in a 100 meter sprint the (fit) smoker would outtrun the non smoker. But on a longer distance the non smoker would win. I've heard that nicotine gives you short burst of energy but it doesn't last long
Ah, that would explain all the 100M olympic sprinters sparking up a B&H on the track .
