An Idea on helping newbies read the FAQ

i've been thinking... yes, that time of month again

    let's say:
    • an account AutoMod was created
    • every day a person who signed AutoMod up runs this script
    • the script would use lynx (a text-mode web browser) and find questions with key words in them (like fflush(stdin) and void main())
    • if the post was deemed worthy by the script's programming, AutoMod will post an automatic response, usually one of the FAQ
    • if AutoMod screws up and answers a question incorrectly, a regular mod can always edit AutoMod out

what do you think? the challenge would be finding the right criteria to deem a post answer-worthy

That would be more annoying than than the things you are trying to eliminate.......

Also, as this board is licenced software it would probably stomp on this boards support agreement

How about email an FAQ document in text format to people when they register?
