wake up... there is drinking all throughout the bible... drunkenness is bad... the consumption of alcohol in moderation is not.
Not sure what you're saying...absolution is the forgiving of a sin by a priest; meaning you can get drunk, confess, be absolved, and not worry about it. Granted, that's not really keeping with the spirit of the Bible, but hey, sins are for Saturday night and penance is for Sunday morning.

    wake up...and drink up!

I dont actually know any religious types who think beer is evil. I thought that kind of weirdness had passed away for the most part. What strain of religion is this?

Guess I'm just an evil guy whos going straight to hell. Ah well, I'll be having fun on the way there.

Fountain, you're drunk again arent you?

    >>I barfed and missed work...and I'm young still

And stupid apparently. The two usually go hand in hand but one always has hope.

Well, I'm done stirring the pot for today.

Most religious people I know don't have any problems with drinking as long as it's in moderation.

However, I know this group of church people who condemn drinking. My friends are uncomfortable drinking around them and once they were lectured by this group of people for drinking.

Other than that, I don't see why you would need an excuse for drinking. Oh yeah, drunk drivers suck. Put your own life at risk if you want but don't put others at risk.

Most religious people I know don't have any problems with drinking. Period. I mean think about it, logically. I fail to recognise the evilness of drinking really old fruit juice. Ok, simplification, but you get the idea.

Dito. I think the legal limit should be lowered. I've been under the "limit" and felt I shouldnt drive. Its not a very accurate method to determine capability anyhow. I suppose its the best that can be done.

You can go out and have fun and let loose but draw the line anywhere you're actions begin to hurt/infringe on anyone else.

    ok, for lightatdawn....................

Subdene, If you are online and surfing about AND READ THIS post,

I switched my day off to Friday.

We shall go play pool/snooker and have lots of beers (stella?!)

Sorry man, but my moblie telephonic device battery went below a certain charge level and I am recharging it now.

FINALLY- In the morning I shall text you (with my then FULLY charged moblie telephonic device ((know as a cell phone i think over the water)), to confirm which day this week we are going out on the lash. It will be probably Friday. Sorry about the canadians/Americans-I had to repost this as they seem to have lost the textbooks we left with them after we taught them OUR ENGLISH language.

Oooooh, dont call me drunk again-I always know when I am.

    Why not drink?

The bible mentions alcohol the whole time. Sure, you can get drunk but don't do it every day. (you can become an alcoholic)
    Dont abuse it!

*Takes an sip of his delicious RED HEART RUM*

And even whiskey is good for your heart! Some people takes a tot of it every day.

anyway, what fun would a braai, nightclub or even a social be withou alcohol? Just think of all th efunny things that can happen...

I once asked a priest if it was sin to get drunk. He said "if you drink with the intention of getting drunk, it is a sin, however, if you drink and get drunk but didn't plan to that isn't a sin".

Then he fell down asleep, spilling his beer on the floor *

*actually this isn't true, but the first part of my story is
