i would show you how to get bannedbut i have reasons to do other wise...
theoretically-
if you did get banned just come back as a different person - create a new account - its more than likely that you are dynamically assigned an IP each time you log on to your isp unless you are on a permananet connection, so i dont see how ip blocking would work, you can also remove cookies easy enough!

the ip's can be maintained at the site and there are other ways im sure...
Besides you'd lose your post count and yer cool name...

I think you'd have to do something pretty bad/nasty such as write constant death threats to the webmaster or others, be extremely racist/sexist when posting, or do nothing but swear all the time.
A "3 strikes and you're out" system would be a good thing to implement - something like...
Strike 1 - is a warning.
Strike 2 - will reset your message count so you're a junior member again and not allow you to post any more messages under your account name for that day.
Strike 3 - would see your account deleted.
That would seem fair to me.
Personally I would love to have my account deleted and just come here as a visitor.
