A simple idea for the boards

I am member of several other forums around the web and I know many of you are as well. The repetitive questions, lack of a good read of the FAQ, and no will to preform simple searches are by no means annoyances unique to cprogramming.

Over at www.were-here.com they have implemented a simple soloution on some of the boards which has been pretty effective. Obviously you still get that occasional person who must be typing with a bag over his/her head but it has helped alot.

Something like this or this is what I am referring to.

I am sure many of our members would be willing to lend a hand searching for our best threads to our most frequently asked questions and we would just leave it open to additional suggestions.

I don't know how this would work here but I don't think it's a bad idea and maybe it's worth a shot?

Very true but how many unregistered users or new members go straight to the FAQ board with a C/C++/etc. question. And I haven't seen a whole lot going on with the FAQ board in general.

IMO if they moved the FAQ board to the top of the list and changed it to "Beginners - Frequently Asked Questions" more people would read it
