I suppose so but it seems better for me since my surrounding environment is around 70ºF when my a.c. is on.

think only with code.
write only with source.
heres how,
1. open one side of case, preferably one with the cpu facing out.
2. place large house fan on side where case was, that is now open.
3. turn to high

Too bad microsoft doesn't offer nitrogen cooling systems, they could kill a lot more people that way.
(And, if they could get them to sign their insurance over to them, and buy a mortuary and "hire" a coroner, then they could boost sales by a lot!)
Compilers:
GCC on Red Hat 8.1 (Primary)
GCC on Mac OS X 10.2.4 (Secondary)

Sorry the first thing XP does is cheak for compatablity. My computer is less then a year old I've installed windows mutlible times on diffent computers. Including one that was done in school durring my A+ certifican class.
This heat is bringing my CPU to 49 degres. Stupid heat. I guess I need another case fan or two that I can't afford.

case fans doesn't cost that much do they?
OK I know the problem has something to do with drivers. My video card driver to be more excect. At least thats the driver windows complaind about after getting it to start once.
I have the latest driver. Windows 98 also seemed to have problems with it.
I'm using an Athlon xp chip for my proceser.

Don't overlook the possibility of a hardware problem. A cpu overheating can cause the sort of trouble you describe. In fact, a cpu overheat can cause the strangest malefunctions. Even just a little on the warm side can act up.
Other hardware can do odd things too. A couple months ago I had symtoms exactly like yours. You know what it was? My mouse went bad! Something in the cord. Like to drove me nuts trying to find the problem. It would work for a while and then start messing up again. Freezes, blue screens and once a full reboot without warning.
Good luck with your problem. Kevin
Hey i dont know if u got ur blue screen thing fix or not.. but anyway. i had the same problem and its due to the virtual memory of you computer. if you messed with it its probably because of that and if u didnt then its microsoft that sucks. Windows XP has a few bugs on it and that blue screen with the error code is onee of the major ones. the easiest way around is installing a fresh copy of windows xp on your system. And for the cooling problem..just go buy a small CPU fan for 5 bux and place it inside or at the back of your comp.
