Download Managers - Do you use one, and if so, which one? (this mostly applies to dial-up users =)... I've had GetRight for a while now, but would like to find one that's freeware, anyone?

i use Download Accelerator, it's free and a small prog, about a meg, I'v been using it for a while now.
u can download it from here
I have broadband and i use Getright.
The only reason i have getright is that i sometimes download files that are very big and not even broadband internet connection can download them in a day. Plus i have it cos u never know when u might have to reboot your computer and i could be downloading at that time.
Its your connection that makes it hard to finish a file in a day, its either where you are downloading it from had a bad upload speed or that you are downloading over a gig.Originally posted by ChrisMUK

Sorry, the above post was mine, but i had to make some corrections so here it is again:
Its not your connection that makes it hard to finish a file in a day, its either where you are downloading it from had a bad upload speed or that you are downloading a single file over a gig (what the hell would that be?).Originally posted by ChrisMUK

I know its not my connection.
Its the place im downloadin off. But which ever way to continue my download i still need Getright!
Depends. If you are taking it from your browser or soemthing, yes you would need it. Then again, if you were using a program like Hotline you wouldn't.
When I had dial up I used Download Accelerator a lot more. I use it occasionally for the pause and resume feature, if it is an extremely large file.

Hey! any1 seen the new broadband in uk yet?
It is twice as fast as broadband from BT....yep twice!
Its called 1mb service, and is from (for me anyway) Telewest, so yep its cable..
Wish they would dig my bloody road up and stick a cable in..
1MB??? is that fast compared to US??????????
Enlighten me.
Such is life.
Some small college in the US recently implemented something like that. Cisco did it for them. They made a pretty good deal actually. The college received a large discount in exchange for Cisco being able to test new products on their computers.
From what I hear, you can have real time live video conferences that are of very high quality.
What kind of license does it have? Freeware? Shareware?
