Thread: After 9/11 are you afraid to visit New York?

Although I have never been there before, I would probably still go. Since Sept.11, they have taken measures in order to improve security, which I think makes flying even safer.

First off you and series should meet sometime.

Second, I have no reason to go to new york, and don't plan on visiting anytime soon for no reason.

Third, no I am not scared to visit new york.

As I went to visit Ground Zero in February, no, I'm not afraid. It was probably one of the more solemn experiences of my meager 29 years.

As a quick side note...I was in Newark NJ about to take the PATH (Port Authority Trans Hudson) into NYC. The PATH's NYC hub was the World Trade center, had my brother in law and I left 45 minutes earlier, we would have been there at the time the planes struck....Therefore....I HAD to go back.

What made you ask this question anyway?

No! I was on the B1 - level of 2WTC as the first plane hit and outside as the second, and saw building 2 come right before my eyes. In all honesty, for quite a while whenever I went to sleep it is all I would see. Its funny before 9/11, I would say to my coworkers of how they lived through the vietnam war, watergate, cuban invasion, the dawning of the computer and the internet and how my generation may never see anything on such a scale; now if I could I would take all back and never experience anything so !@#$%. Its almost a year later and this is what I am doing, I am continuing on my career goals, getting married next month and going to live everyday to fullest never forgetting and look forward to the next and now matter how much bad their is in this world their is more good, that's what I learned

Why should I?

No. It's the pick-pockets, muggers, murderers,
rapists, and prostitutes that scare me.

Not to mention the "actors."

I think New York is a lot safer in terms of pick-pockets and muggers etc., since Giuliani. I'd say London's worse.

Regarding Sept. 11th; we shouldn't let the animals, which carried out the attacks get what they want by scaring us. Also, the chances of another attack in the same place are highly unlikely.
