    Computeach

    Does anyone on this fair forum study with Computeach Internatioal Limited??

    I ask becuase I'm being screwed over big style by these wonderfull people who promised me great things, I find out that the 'diplomas' I study and do exams for have no other outside merit than that of saying how good I am at such a language but not to what level (Hmmm.. That'll sure look impressive next to a person who has a degree in programming..) and I then find out that the City & Guilds awaiting me at the end of my current project is also pretty much worthless.... great...

    And the best thing is, for all the frustration, pointless toil and delays as tutors mess me about, I got to pay damn close to £3000... Oh but they promised to find me a job.. so that's okay... But maybe like most of the other things that were just trying to get my money....

    £3000, I could have bought quite a few books for that, and at a guess the books wouldn't have taught me void main() and quite a few other habits that are looked down on....

    or... is this just me?

    That's a lot of cash, yes you could have bought a lot of books with that. I would suggest you have probably been ripped off, but of course, I don't know this organisation.

    Only 30 miles from me my friend....is it such a big gap that computeach managed to fleece you but no one near me?

    I suppose the advertising is good, but why not go to Uni?


    It would have cost you less (loans aside) to get a degree!

    I joined Uni with no experience except self teaching at the age of 32, just had to pass tests.......So it is not hard to get into Uni...

    But, computeach? Oh man..

    Gimme a shout , and I'll let you buy me a beer next time I go to trafford centre!

    Oh yes, I forgot- we were taught void main() in the beginning-nothing wrong with that.

    Any1 feels like disputing that can check out MILLIONS of posts previous......For a first step in consoles its ok.....Please dont go on about the merits of int main etc etc.....its not the point

    Well, being taught void main() to start with is fine, but to continue doing so throughout an entire course, seems a bit wrong...

    It seemed like a good idea at the time is all I'm saying, of course, now I know differently, what a marvellous thing expierence is. And I'm sure uni would have been cheaper too... Damn my foolish mistake...

    You think I can afford a beer from the Trafford Centre?? I'm not royalty, y'know...

    If only I'd gone to uni, I could've had the girls, the booze, the marvellously lazy lifestyle.... or at least the booze, and the lazy thing....

    I did Computer Power Training Institute (Interim, then Spherion - changed names more than they updated their manuals..).

    Couldn't do a degree myself - couldn't afford it, government wouldn't pay me, and they only offered day time courses (and guess when I worked! ).

    Well - the story is, paid a fortune to those clowns, and they still maintain that void main() is ok. You should see their C++ material - Jeezus that is out of date..

    An ANSI/ISO compliant compiler would not allow void main(). I have no intention of debating the merits of one way or another, I simply point out that one complies to the international standard and is likely to work and one does not, and is likely to fail sooner or later.

    yeah i did !!!!! then spent a year and a half looking for junior c programmers jobs which don't exist !! i wasted about £1,800 !!! now i'm a lab technician again !!

    Computeach is a scam !!! we should sue !! were so dumb and gullible !! i must have been on too much waccy baccy at the time !!
