Any help would be highly appreciated..

All of those are the cores of the Athlon.
Thunderbird is the oldest. It was on the original Athlons.
Throroughbred is the latest core for the Athlon XP I believe.
Palomino was the first core for the XP.
And I have no idea where Morgan fits in. Sorry.
EDIT: The Morgan core is the new core for Duron. The original core for the Duron was the Spitfire....

What's up with the horse names? What are we going to have next? Budweiser Clydesdales? Shetland Ponies? Quarter-horses? WTF?
I go to encounter for the millionth time the reality of experience and to forge in the smithy of my soul the uncreated conscience of my race.
Windows XP consists of 32 bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprocessor, written by a 2 bit company, that can't stand 1 bit of competition.
So, does that mean Thoroughbred is the best ? Could someone give some more details ?
I'm not too sure with what's "best".
The Throroughbred is better than Palomino and Thunderbird.
But comparing the Athlon cores to the Duron's Morgan is like comparing apples to oranges.
If you are getting an XP, you've got two choices. If you're getting a higher speed XP, get the Throroughbred (as it was designed for the higher-speed XPs); if you're getting a slower speed XP, get the Palomino.
And if you want an Athlon with a clockspeed of less than 1.4 GHz, I'd suggest getting an Athlon with a T-Bird core. Tests have shown the T-Bird beats the Palomino in slower clock speeds.
I had a T-bird --was ok-1ghz...
