you have to get it to level 5 stars, I think... and then the military will come after you and you have to steal a tank when the military people get out to pull you out of your car... (it's fun, really)...
your best bet is to get them to come after you (possibly using cheats)... and then wait til they get out of the tank, use the cheat code to make all the stars disappear and then run and take the tank while they're slowly walking back to the tank...
yes, you have to be quick
Or you could just use the code to make a tank fall out of the sky.

There is in the PS2 version, but I'm not sure how to do it in the PC version.

other than having the army come after you or cheating, I don't know of any way. You might get it in some mission or a rampage or something - I'm not far enough yet, I guess.

I have one mission left and that is that I have to get 500.000$. I only have 320.000$ and with the tank it would be much better collecting the money

After you've completed the "The Exchange" mission (last one), you'll be able to get the tank in the Army Surplus store in Staunton Island.
That last mission is hard, collecting $500,000 is only the start of it. Having the sniper rifle or the rocket launcher at your hideout makes it much easier, but to get them you'll have to have collected 80-100 of those hidden packages.Originally posted by GaPe

Why can't you just buy the rifle and rocket launcher at Ammunation and the Army Surplus place on Stauton Island?

You only have so much time and because your hideout is near where the mission takes place, you save alot of time by getting them from your hideout.Originally posted by Govtcheez

Where is Army Surplus place? I read somewhere that it is on Rockford street but I just can't find it. Can anyone please tell me where it is and describe the building. Thanx.

If you're that far, you must have done the mission - it's the place on Staunton Island near the hospital - you fight the Colombians there for the Yakuza. I think it's the first place you get the AK47

get 100 taxi missions successfully and you get the good red taxi
i've pulled 50000+ in one taxi mission!!
