Thread: anyone is well in hardware ?

The motherboard of my computer is probably broken, but I'm not quite sure about it this moment because I'm newbie to hardware. So, any suggestions on it would be appreciated.

In order to ensure you mother board is broken, remove it from the computer, and drop a large object on it, and your problem should be solved.

Please answer this questions:

1. What errors do you get.
-Beeps
-Messages on startup
-ect


2. What is not working exectly.

3. Any other addtional information
-computer brand
-Bios

How many beeps?

Remove the keyboard and mouse from the ports and put them back in makeing sure there in correctly.

You might also want to try another keyboard.

it's not the business of my keyboard. I tried another new and the machine "beep beep" as before.

it beeps just a few, but with time goes it beeps very hard.

give a detailed description of the sequence and length of the beeps, there are but two kinds, long and short. so far as the intensity, that's just your brain being racked... to see what bios you have, when you get the error, your screen pauses, check the very top lines and tell us what it reads... in fact, tell us all of the information exactly as appears, on screen...

some days before, when I start my computer it sometimes "beep beep" and system would show me an error message, and then the computer halted.

but the thing become even worse. From this week, when I try to enter system it show me a black screen......

also to try and diagnose the problem, remove pieces of hardware one at a time, i.e. nic, modem, sound, what ever else you got.

The fact that both the keyboard and mouse aren't working would make me shy away from thinking they are bad. But, how do you know the mouse isn't working? Can you actually boot into windows?

The reason I ask is that on most computers, if you have a keyboard error, it won't let you continue. Quite often you must hit a key (such as F1, F2, or enter) to continue booting, or, in the case of my Gateway, when there is a keyboard error it will simply not boot at all, nor give me the choice to continue.

About this black screen... that seems to be the clincher. I would say, pretty confidentaly, that your motherboard is dead.

And thanx for ur mention, Stautze~ but it is a pity those hardware are all out of guarantee. I have to buy new ones.
