What does this hypothetical Java programmer do? Do they have seniority or project leader duties? What company do they work for and what does this company do? There are a lot of variables that go into how much programmers get paid, your best bet would be to search for the industry standard somewhere, but you'll have to be more specific than just "a Java programmer".

Java programmers in embedded systems in the Netherlands have the same salary as C/C++ or other programmers. A (junior) programmer, in the Netherlands, is someone who implements and tests software. He/she receives the requirements and designs. So the main activity is coding. The salary for a programmer is about 15 euro per hour, I guess that's about 12 or 13 US dollar.
Holland? Holland? I'm from a small little village called Ingelum in the northern part of Fryslan. But why? Salaries don't vary much in a geographical way in the Netherlands, it's too small for that.
