Make it worse, so that you have something to dream of.

When all else fails, read the instructions.
If you're posting code, use code tags:
/* insert code here */
Try installing any of the following software. Its guaranteed to make this problem go away.

Window ME
Internet Explorer
Outlook Express

For optimal results; install WinME and browse the web with IE until you find mIRC. Download and run, tell everyone and anyone who listens that you use Outlook Express. Wait.

Let me use it for a month. I'll .......... it up for you in no time! Or the next best thing would be to download small games that you use for 5 minutes and don't uninstall them. Also download warez software and go to a ton of porn sites. Top it off with some Microsoft software and you should be all set!

break the power button so you have to turn it on with a screwdriver across the appropriate header on the m/board. very irritating in the dark.

maybe opening up the casing before hitting would help...hit it right at the center of gravity of your motherboard

Send it back and get a new one - it's obviously defective.
